# Custom domains

> Buy, transfer or connect your own domain.

Open **Settings → Domain**.

  <Card title="Transfer" icon="arrow-right-left">Move one in with its EPP code. You're charged only when the transfer completes.</Card>
  <Card title="Connect" icon="link">Keep it at your registrar and add the records shown on the live-checking setup card.</Card>

## Managed DNS and backups

Domains bought or transferred into Aura are managed for you: records stay correct and certificates are issued automatically. Aura saves a backup before any change and one every month, keeping 12 months of history under **Domain Hub → DNS backups**.
