Glass workspace linking documents and connected accounts
Work Mode crosses several boundaries: Aura’s conversation, the AI provider, your connected apps and, when enabled, a website browser. Each has a different role. Zero Data Retention for model calls is not a promise that a document you save in Google Drive will disappear.

Check the ZDR setting

In a Work Mode conversation, open the composer’s + menu and inspect Zero Data Retention. When the faster non-ZDR route is active, the menu offers Turn on ZDR. Do not infer protection from a green label elsewhere: check the setting for the current Work Mode request. Fast Route is separate from the response-mode picker and from Browser Tool.
For sensitive work, turn on ZDR before sending the task. Turning it on later does not retroactively change a request already sent through a non-ZDR route.

Connected apps keep their own data

Connected-account actions use Composio to reach the provider you authorized. Email, calendar events, documents, CRM records and posted messages are stored by their destination services under those services’ own policies and your account permissions. ZDR for an AI model does not remove a sent email or erase a saved file.
  • Connect your own account and review the provider permissions.
  • Name the intended account when several accounts could fit.
  • Ask for read-only work or draft-only output when you do not want a live change.
  • Check the external service before retrying a failed send or edit.

Project files and browser credentials

Project Knowledge Base files are encrypted in the browser before upload and retain their original formats. Relevant content can still be processed to answer a task; encryption is not a claim that Aura never reads the material you ask it to use. Browser Tool is opt-in per chat and requires Pro or Elite with Tool Router enabled. Store website logins in Browser Vault, not in the prompt. Vault credentials are encrypted and supplied to the relevant browser task rather than exposed as normal chat context.

Subscription access

Included access does not mean every tool-running task is free. See Plans and credits for current prices, included balances and top-ups.

How to think about credits

Work Mode performs real model and tool work. Cost depends on the task, how much material is processed and how many actions are needed; do not treat the approximate Orchestration prompt price as a fixed price for Work Mode. Agent runs and AI Builder work have their own usage paths. To keep a task focused, specify the date range and required fields, reuse project references, request only the output you need, and separate read-only review from a large live update. Inspect the result before rerunning an entire multi-app chain.

No. It governs the model provider’s handling of the model request. Connected apps and visited websites retain their own data according to their own policies.
Yes. Essential supports connected-app Work Mode in Quick Chat. Projects, Browser Tool and Agents require Pro or Elite.
No. Removing authorization does not undo a message, document or record already created at the provider.
